From Myth to Make‑Over: What Actually Happens During a Mobile Shoot

Last month we debunked the big myths:

“My office is too small.”“Kitchen lighting ruins everything.”“Professional photos = half‑day disruption.”

Judging by the comments and DMs, that post hit home—so let’s go one step further. Instead of telling you a mobile studio works, I’ll show you what happens, start to finish, in plain English (and the occasional guilty‑pleasure song lyric).

1. Pre‑Shoot Pep Talk (aka The Space Check)

Send me two phone snaps of your workspace.I’ll reply within 24 hours with:

✅ Where the backdrop and lights will sit

✅ What furniture we’ll shuffle (usually a chair and maybe the dog bowl)

✅ One thing to declutter (spoiler: not your coffee mug—mine will match)

2. Arrival & 10‑Minute Tetris

  • Park, unload, kettle on.

  • Softbox left, reflector right, backdrop clipped to whatever’s sturdy and legal. Total set‑up: about the length of your favourite Eurovision song.

3. The Shoot (20–40 mins of Guided Normality)

  • No “chin down, eyes up” contortions—just natural prompts and bad jokes.

  • We preview shots on the camera so you’re not waiting days to know if your hair is behaving.

  • If it’s a branding session, we use the real props: laptop, latte art, product samples—everything the mythic big studio would replace with plastic.

4. Instant Tidy‑Up

Softbox out, table back, zero evidence—unless you count the biscuit crumbs.

5. Editing & Delivery

  • I cull the blinks and sneezes the same day.

  • Finished, fully edited images land in your inbox within 3–5 working days (48‑hour rush upgrade available)

6. Using Your Photos (The Part Most People Forget)

  • LinkedIn profile + banner

  • Email footer (mini‑signature shot)

  • “About” page hero image

  • Press releases, speaker bios, and Yes‑I‑Really‑Exist headshots for networking events
